Eligibility
Any Botswana citizen or permanent resident aged 18 years and above who is formally employed or self-employed with a verifiable income. You must hold a valid Omang (National ID) and have an active Botswana bank account in your name.
There is no fixed minimum, but your monthly net (take-home) salary must be enough to cover your loan instalment without that instalment exceeding 50% of your net pay. For example, if you take home P3,000 per month, your instalment cannot exceed P1,500. Our online calculator shows your maximum eligible loan amount the moment you enter your salary.
Yes. Self-employed applicants are welcome. You will need to provide 3 months of business bank statements showing consistent income. A business registration certificate (CIPA) or trading licence is helpful but not always mandatory — our team will advise based on your specific situation.
We assess each application on its individual merits, including your income, employment stability, and debt obligations. Having a good credit record improves your chances, but we do not automatically decline applicants with a limited credit history. If you have had financial difficulties in the past, we encourage you to still apply and our team will review your full picture.
Yes. Having another loan does not automatically disqualify you. However, your existing monthly commitments will be considered when calculating affordability. If your current deductions leave you with less than 50% of your net salary, we may not be able to approve a new loan at that time.
Yes, provided your contract is current and verifiable at the time of application. You will need to submit your most recent payslip and bank statements showing salary credits. Contracts with at least 3 months remaining are generally considered.
No. Loan applications must be submitted by the individual who will be borrowing the money. We require your personal details, ID, and financial information, and the loan agreement must be signed by you directly.
